Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

Above the marquee on downtown’s Broadway Avenue, you will find a large lighted vertical Portland sign that signifies the entrance to the famous Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. This 2,776 seat venue is the home to the Oregon Symphony, and many other types of performing arts. The Portland Public Theatre was built in 1928, and renamed the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall after a substantial donation by Arlene and Harold Schnitzer.

The remodel and restoration of the hall was inspired by Italian Rococo Revival Architecture, and finished in 1984. As you walk into the entrance, patrons will be greeted by beautiful chandeliers that light up the elegant interior. The warm cream colors are inviting, as well as the ornate designs the line the ceilings.

The concert hall has showcased many talented artists from across the world. It is Portland’s most famous venue. An evening at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall amongst the audible grandeur of this acoustic masterpiece will leave you speechless.
