The Multnomah Athletic Club

The Multnomah Athletic Club, otherwise known as the MAC, is a not-for-profit athletic and social club that is located in downtown Portland next to PGE Park, and across the street from Lincoln High School at 1849 S.W. Salmon St. The MAC has a long history of excellence in athletics, as well as social and educational programs. 26 football players founded the MAC in 1891. The club is 550,000 square feet and is now the largest indoor athletic club in the world with a membership of almost 20,000 people.

The MAC is host to many state, regional, and national championships that extend to many different sports. The facilities include three separate pools, large and small weight rooms, aerobic rooms, three full basketball courts, tennis courts, a gymnastics gym, rock climbing wall, squash courts, large ballroom, library, sports pub, casual dining room, luxurious restaurant, MAC store, kids recreational area, indoor track, sauna rooms, hot tub room, hair salon, and many more.

The MAC also provides its members with many other social and educational opportunities. Some of these activities include junior dances, family holiday events, book clubs, tours and travel abroad, choir, poker tournaments, theater events, language classes, salsa dancing lessons, and much more. The MAC also provides resources and funds for different charities in the community. Just recently the MAC helped to gather canned food for the Oregon Food Bank. The MAC foundation also gives out scholarships to student athletes around Portland.

The Multnomah Athletic Club is a symbol of luxury in Portland, while harnessing the athletic abilities of its members. The amazing facilities are a credit to the leadership that has helped this establishment grow.
